good afternoon everyone! i hope your day is as gorgeous as the one here in melbourne today.

nattygai is still taking a break, but i'm looking at being back on deck as soon as possible.

don't forget to check my etsy store from time to time, as i've been listing some of my items as and when I can.

my etsy store will now be my main stockist,
but you can still find nattygai items at madeit and little yon yon.

i'm looking forward to getting back to work creating and making new items to love and share.

The end of the school holidays ...

Good morning everyone.

The school holidays have ended (well almost, my son goes back on Friday!) and the new year has begun.

My little girl started Grade 2 today at her new school and she was so excited she woke me up at 6am completely dressed and ready for school including hat and blazer, with her hair brushed and her shoes on!

I can't wait to pick her up this afternoon so she can tell me all the new and exciting things she has discovered today.

Annie being back at school will let me get back to my sewing.
Although I have been trying to do a little over the holidays, my kids really just want me to spend time with them during the holidays.

I have however managed to get a start on a few softies for my next market but this is nowhere near enough, so I will now have to get back to the sewing machine and get lots more made!

I have a new colour range ~ luscious lemon ~ and these are a few newbies:

 ~ Chloe ~

 ~ Lucy ~

 ~ Daisy ~

And here is a few more that I've been able to get ready for market:

Firstly this is Fleur.
She has lots of lashes and loves everything pink and floral.

~ Juliet ~

And last but not least, this is ~ Mae ~ I really love her and her violet eyes.

We've also started the renos.
The decking is up ready for the digger to arrive next week.
I'm so looking forward to the end result, but not living through it.
It will also make it a little difficult for me to get much sewing done over the next 6 months, but I will do what I can.

What new at nattygai this week ...

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would give you an update on what's happening at nattygai this week.

I added 6 new dolls to my madeit store yesterday and I've already sold 3.  I thought everyone would have had enough of shopping at this time of the year, but obviously not!  I've more dolls coming (they are half made), so I'll be working this afternoon and on Friday to get some more completed and posted.

I also have a range of handbags to photograph and post, along with some new purses.  I will keep you posted with developments there.

There are also lots of back orders to catch up with so I'll be working on those too.

I'm looking forward to catching up with friends Shan from Missy Melly and Cathy from Bliss Clips at IKEA tomorrow.  And of course, it's always great to have a bit of a shop at IKEA!

On Thursday I'm going to the Australian Open with my son, so hopefully there are still lots of Aussies there for us to cheer on to victory!

With my husband working in Brisbane at the moment it's busy at home and it doesn't leave much time for me to work but I will do what I can.

And just before I go, some exciting news for nattygai, Louisa from Little Big Company will shortly be listing one of my softies in their 'online finds' post.  It's such a fabulous feeling when others love what you do and want to share it - thanks so much to Louisa and Little Big Company.

Playing in the Rain

It's been a long school holiday week in Melbourne with all the rain, so this afternoon we took off outside for a jump in the puddles!

I've given my blog a little makeover today.

I've added a link to my madeit store, a slideshow so you can see some examples of the things I make at nattygai and details of my next market - if you live in Melbourne I would love to meet you!

Let me know what you think, and whether or not a professional makeover is needed.

Happy New Year

Hello to my first 3 followers and thanks for being there at the beginning of my blogging career!

I have had a great break over Christmas and I have a big year ahead.  I have a house renovation starting in the first week of February, my next market will be at the Fairy Floss Market at St Kilda on 20 February 2011 and I already have orders waiting to be filled from last year.  Therein lies my dilemma.  I have to make new stock for the market on 20 February and make the items for the back orders and I have to pack up my house for the renovation to start the first week in Feb and it is the 12th of January!

I don't know exactly how or where I'm going to work during the renovation as the house will be dusty in one section, so I could work in my bedroom where it will be clean, but then where do I put all the boxes of stuff that I have packed up from the rest of my house?

And to top all that off, I have family coming to stay on Friday for the weekend and Matt (my husband) is off to Brisbane to work on Sunday!

I'm not stressing yet, but I'm really going to have to start to make some decisions and stop procrastinating, or maybe it's fairer to say that instead of thinking about how this is all going to sort itself out I need to just do something!

Nat xx
